Felipe Merida is a native Guatemalan. His family moved to San Francisco in ’97 where he studied High School at the School of the Arts and a year at the San Francisco Art Institute. He then moved to Toronto Canada where he graduated with a degree in illustration.
Felipe uses ink and watercolor to capture aged and weathered skin of hunters and survivors. Fine and laborious pen work brings life to the nomadic tribes.
Felipe lives in Brooklyn New York. In December 2011, Felipe exhibited his first solo show TIPI THIEVES in the East Village, Manhattan, where he displayed a number of artworks based on Native Americans.
